Buffalo matches up well against Eastern Michigan. Both offenses have struggled all year but defensively Buffalo's been the much better team. Since in-conference play started the Bulls are allowing just 18 points per game. That's over the course of 7 games now. The most they've allowed was 31 points but that that was to Toledo, the #1 team in the conference. Outside of that they've limited every team to 24 points or less and that's with an offense that's really struggled to move the ball at times.
Offensively Eastern Michigan managed to score just 17 points in regulation against a 2-9 Akron Team last week. Week prior they scored 23 against Toledo but 14 of those came with under 5 minutes to go after Toledo took a 49-9 lead. Then there was 21 points against a Western Michigan defense allowing 33 points per game. 4 Weeks back they scored just 13 points against 5-6 Northern Illinois. They aren't good.
Buffalo's offense is not very good either but they like to run the football. When they can run the ball they have success and this Eastern Michigan run defense is bad. They're allowing 4.4 yards per carry and over 175 rushing yards per game. Buffalo has an experienced signal caller with Senior QB Cole Snyder too. He won't Air Raid it down the field but he can keep the chains moving with a good rushing attack. The Eastern Michigan defense has allowed plenty of points recently, going back: 27, 49, 45, and 20.
The Bulls offense should find success on the ground and stay ahead of the chains. That will also keep a good Buffalo defense fresh and rested which has been a rairty for them. Eastern Michigan is also 0-5 on the road this year. The 3-8 Buffalo Bulls are laying 6.5 points to the 5-6 Eastern Michigan Eagles for a reason.
