Neither defense is much to brag home about. The Bulls have some decent numbers in MAC play but that's because they've played the 2 worst MAC scoring offenses along with the 6th and 7th. Toledo is very easily the best offense they've faced and when they played competent offense's earlier this year they got destroyed. They allowed 38 to Wisconsin, 40 to Fordham, 55 to Liberty, and 45 to Louisiana. Then they entered MAC play and the schedule lightened. The thing is this Toledo offense is good. They were 2nd in the MAC in scoring at 31.3 points per game in 2022 and returned the large majority of their offensive production this year. It's translated to the #1 scoring offense in the MAC at 34.9 points per game. They're going to be able to move the ball on Buffalo.
Buffalo's offense has sputtered at time but they find ways to score points. They average 25.9 points per game which ranks 4th in the MAC and have scored 24 or more in 5 of their 8 games. They've shown the ability to keep pace when their defense falters. They lost 17-38 to Wisconsin although there's a massive talent disparity there and that Badgers defense is very good. Lost 37-40 to Fordham, 27-55 to Liberty, 38-45 to Louisiana. These two met last year and scored 61 total points. Meeting before that was 2019 and they scored 79. The MAC conference has a knack for hitting Overs when they start playing in the middle of the week too.
