He made 3 of the 6 starts at Toronto too. He allowed a combined 3 ER in 19IP, good for a 1.42 ERA. The Blue Jays had a .248 BA and .661 OPS for Taillon last season. Bo Bichette is also hurt, he hit .353 against Taillon last year. Raimel Tapia was also 4 for 10 vs Taillon and he's no longer with the team. That's 10 of the 33 hits Taillon allowed in 133 at bats.

He's avoided significant injury but any level of discomfort is alarming.
He's 36 years old and just made it back from a long Tommy John surgery recovery. He's made just 8 big league starts since 2021 and his average fastball Velo is down to 89 MPH. He took the 96mph liner off his plant leg too. He might be Wolverine but the odds are that knee doesn't feel spectacular and he's pushing through it to try and help his team hold onto their half game wildcard lead.
The Cubs offense ranks 2nd in the league since the All-Star Break and 3rd in the Month of August. They've scored 6 and 5 runs against Toronto in the first two games as well.
