The Royals have won back to back games against the Twins and are swinging the Bats well. They're hitting .285 with an .814 OPS over the last week and have scored 5 or more runs in 4 of their last 6 games. They've had no issue scoring on the best of what MIN has to offer. They scored 3 runs on Sonny Gray (3.22 ERA) in game 1 and put up 5 more on the Twins bullpen. Yesterday they scored 6 on Ober (3.19) ERA and threw up 4 more on the bullpen. Scoring against all 3 relief pitchers.
They face Kenta Maeda today who's having a solid month of July but he's been fortunate. He's faced the 22nd ranked offense twice, 28th, and 30th in the Month of July. He'll be tasked with navigating a Royals lineup that's seeing the ball very well right now. The Royals have a hit on all but one of the Twins relievers and have scored on more than half through the first two games.
Ryan Yarbrough starts for the Royals. Since returning from the IL on July 9th he's been great. He's 2-1 with a 2.55 ERA through 3 July starts. He's allowed 1 run on 6 innings in 2 of those 3 starts and 3ER on 5.2 IP in the other. Most importantly, he's a Lefty. The Twins rank dead across the board vs LHP. Worst BA, OBP, and SLG. Jorge Polanco is the only Twin on the active Roster with an OPS higher than .758 vs LHP and he's been hurt most of the year. He has just 25 at bats against Lefties this year and his career OPS is .73 points LOWER against LHP compared to RHP.
