NYY SP got blasted by these Twins a couple of weeks ago, but he responded nicely, allowing just 1 ER in his following start against the Angels. He’s been sharp outside of that 1 start. Giving up just 2 ER in his other 3 appearances. He struggled with command vs MIN, leaving sinkers in the top half of the zone. Happens to every Pitcher, sometimes it’s just not their day. Twins didn’t get the best version of Brito and if he pitches like he has in 3 out of his 4 starts the Twins offense will be worse off for it. He hasn’t been asked to pitch more than 5 innings this year and the NYY’s have the best bullpen in Baseball. They’re well rested.
The Twins Sonny Gray is arguably the #1 Pitcher in the game right now. His .82 ERA ranks 3rd behind Ohtani and Gerrit Cole. He hasn’t allowed more than 1 ER in any start, and he has 26 strikeouts in 22IP. With the injuries the Yankees are dealing with this lineup is a shell of itself. They rank 18th on the year offensively and are hitting just .199 as a team through their last 6 games. The Twins bullpen is top heavy but their important arms are good to go for this one.
