9:00PM EST: BYU +7.5 (5 Units).

No Kevin McCullar Jr for Kansas tonight. They did take care of business at Home against Texas without him their last time out but BYU's one of the best teams in the Country. They're 9th overall in Adj O and have the bodies to throw at Kansas's Hunter Dickinson. No McCullar very clearly hurts the Kansas offense, but their already weak perimeter defense gets even worse. We took advantage of McCullar's absence against a quality 3-PT shooting team with Texas Tech on February 12th. BYU is 4th in 3-PT Rate this season. Kansas ranks 141st in opponent 3-PT %, 126th in Open 3 Rate, 95th in PPP defending catch and shoot 3's, and 209th in PPP defending off the dribble 3's.

Kansas only has 3 players averaging double digits points and McCullar leads the way at 19. Dickinson becomes the focal point for the Jayhawks offense here, but BYU has a steady rotation of 3 players 6'10+. Dickinson's better than all of them of course but it's just about slowing him down and BYU has the bodies for it. BYU is 13th in the Country in rebound rate and that size has a lot to do with it. Kansas is 71st in rebound rate and McCullar was 2nd on the team averaging 6.4 boards per game. Kansas won't be as efficient offensively and that's going to open up BYU's transition game. The Cougars transition offense is 31st in PPP and 42nd in Frequency. Kansas's transition defense is 170th in PPP.

Kansas doesn't have a ton of depth as it is either. It's pretty much a 6-man rotation now with Forward Parker Braun operating as their 7th. Braun hasn't gotten more than 10 minutes in a Conference Game this year. Kansas doesn't foul too much but there's just not much room for error for Kansas without McCullar.
