Kansas is without Kevin McCullar Jr tonight. He's one of the best players in the Country and the leader of this Jayhawks team. He's averaging 19.5 Points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He's 1st in points and 2nd in everything else we listed for Kansas. He didn't play in their most recent 64-61 win over Baylor at Home, but it was sloppy. They shot just 42.9% from the field (50.6% on the year) and recorded 11 assists (20.3 Per Game). Their offense was very clearly out of Sync and it's not like Baylor's some strong defensive team. Baylor turned it over a whopping 21 times in that game and they still had a couple chances to tie it at the end.
Kansas has really struggled on the road as is this year too. They're 2-4 SU on the road and 1-4 in Conference Play. Their only in conference road win came @ Oklahoma State, who currently rank last in the Big 12. The road loss to a good Iowa State team isn't too bad but they have losses at KSU, WVU, and UCF. The 10th, 12th, and 13th ranked teams in the BIG 12. Tech's 12-1 at Home this year.
Tech's 13th in Adj O and they match-up well against Kansas's defense. Tech ranks 24th in 3-PT% and 94th in 3-PT rate at 40.5%. Kansas ranks 123rd in opponent 3-PT % and are 285th in opponent 3-PT Rate. Tech is 9th in PPP in Catch & Shoot 3's and go to it 28% of possessions while Kansas ranks 342nd defending it. Tech's also 41st in PPP in off the Dribble 3-PT and go to it 11% of possessions while Kansas ranks 354th defending it. No McCullar is a blow to their perimeter defense as well. There aren't many 6'7 long athletic guards that can defend like he can.
Hunter Dickinson is one of the best Centers in the Country and Tech has a body for him. Starting big Warren Washington stands 7 Foot tall and does a very good job of staying on the floor. He's averaging 28.3 minutes per game and recorded more than 3 fouls just once over their last 16 games and it was 4 against TCU. He's a 5th year Senior with 131 games played and 102 starts in his career. There's really no stopping Dickinson but he's capable of slowing him down.
