Cardinals vs Cubs OVER 10

10 may seem like a high total and it is. But for good reason. Going into this series there wasn't a hotter offense in baseball than the St Louis Cardinals. The resurgence of La Maquina has had a little something to do with that but they have a ton of hot bats. They've had a strange series against the Cubs so far, scoring 0 Runs, 13 Runs, and 1 run through the first 3 games. They have a great matchup against Marcus Stroman today though. The Cardinals have faced him twice so far this season, through 2 starts they've tagged him for 12 Earned runs in just 10.2 IP. 9 of those 12 ER came at Wrigley field where Stroman has struggled all season. He has an era of 6.62 at home.

Cardinals Starter Dakota Hudson has had struggles of his own too. He's failed to go deeper than 5 innings in each of his last 4 starts and most recently surrendered 4 earned runs against Arizona in just 4.1 IP. His ERA through the month of August is up to 6.08.

These bullpens have been taxed tremendously the last couple weeks too. The Cardinals haven't had a day off since August 15th, playing their 11th game in just 10 days. Chicago hasn't had a day off since August 12th, playing their 14th game in 13 days. These two met for a double header on Tuesday. When these teams are inevitably forced to go to the bullpen I expect both offenses to produce.
