The Chicago White Sox travel to Baltimore to open a 3-game set against the Orioles at Camden yard. Both teams got the day off yesterday and come into this one rested. Dylan Cease starts for Chicago and Austin Voth starts for the O’s.
Dylan Cease: Cease currently owns the 2nd best ERA in not only the AL but all of baseball amongst qualified starters. He’s had quite the breakout season in his 4th season in the Bigs. He also shut down these Orioles back in June, racking up 13 strikeouts across 7 IP of 1 run ball. His most recent outing saw him give up 3 earned runs in just 5 innings against Houston.
Austin Voth: Voth has gone from Bullpen bum in Washington to starting gem in Baltimore. Whatever Baltimore saw in Voth when they scooped him up turned out to be right. After posting an 8.51 era across 23 appearances as a reliver he’s got a 2.76 era across 10 appearances as a starter. In his last start against Toronto, he allowed just 3 baserunners in 6 innings of work without giving up a run.
Offensively the Orioles own a slight edge recently. Across their L5 games the O’s are hitting .260 with an OPS of .747 contrary to the White Sox .248 BA and .667 OPS. The Orioles also have a combined 42 previous at bats against Cease to the White Sox 6 vs Voth.

Trends: The Orioles have been playing great ball at home all year and even better lately. They’re currently 19-7 in their L26 home games. The White Sox meanwhile are just 1-4 in their L5 road games overall. More specifically the Orioles are 10-1 at home when the total is set between 7.0 – 8.5. But when the White Sox are on the road with that same total range between 7.0 – 8.5 they’re just 1-5.
I like the Orioles +odds in this one. Even though they’re going up against one of the best pitchers in baseball they have a Starter in Austin Voth who’s pitching very well going up against a White Sox lineup that’s struggling. This White Sox team has also won just 1 game out of it’s last 5 and it was a 2-0 win over the Guardians. Orioles are very good at home and I see great value at +125.
Taylor’s Pick: Orioles Moneyline +125.
