49ers Player Prop: Elijah Mitchell Over 40.5 Rushing Yards.
Yes, all the hype is for Christian McCaffrey and how he’s going to get the ball a hundred times, but Elijah Mitchell is going to get his fair share of carries and it’s going to go well. People forget it’s Mitchell who’s been the more effective runner. He’s averaging 6.2 yards per carry on the season to McCaffrey’s 4.7. He had the higher YPC in all but 1 game that he and CMC both played in. He got injured but did return against Arizona for the first time since late November. They eased him back in with 5 carries that he took for 55 yards. He’s been off the injury report for the last 2 weeks and is ready for a bigger workload. This will be a Run heavy script for San Fran. Not only do they have a rookie QB under center but they’re calling for heavy rains throughout this game. Mitchell he can also be trusted to hold onto the football as he’s never fumbled in the NFL. 40.5 is too low.

Great match-up for the explosive 2nd year back out of Clemson. The LA Chargers have one of the worst run defenses in the entire NFL. They’re allowing a league high 5.4 yards per carry this season and Etienne is in the midst of a stellar first campaign in the NFL, averaging 5.1 YPC on 220 carries. 12 of the 17 starting RB’s the Chargers have faced have gone over 77 rushing yards and 4 of the other 5 had at least 57 rushing yards. Doug Pederson will call on Etienne’s number a lot in this game and he’ll be ready for it after lighter than usual workload last week against the #1 rushing defense.
