Moneyline: Mariners -115 / White Sox -105

Runline: Mariners -1.5 (-140) / White Sox +1.5 (-165)

Total: Over/Under 9

The White Sox took game 1 of this series yesterday 3-2. Reliever Reynaldo Lopez picked up the win for Chicago after a strong 1.2 IP. Luis Robert hit the go ahead home run in the bottom of the 6th and the White Sox held the lead the rest of the way. The Mariners had plenty of opportunities but couldn’t secure the big hit. They left 11 men on base and went just 1 for 8 with RISP.

The 2021 Cy Young winner is on the mound for the Mariners tonight. He picked up right where he left off last year in his first start going 7IP, allowing just 3 hits and 1ER in a win against Minnesota. He has great numbers against White Sox hitters as well, in 46 plate appearances they have just 7 hits. Last year he went a combined 16.1 IP in 2 starts against the CWS and allowed just 2 ER while racking up 27 K’s.

Dallas Keuchel will make his first start of the season today. This is his second season with the White Sox and his first didn’t go very well. He pitched to a 5.18 era across 30 starts in 2021 and didn’t provide much length, he went just 156.1 IP in those 30 starts. He was roughed up in his final spring training start as well, allowing 11 hits and 7ER in just 4.2 IP.

Robbie Ray will provide considerable length in this one and hand the ball off to the solid back-end of the Mariners bullpen. Offensively the Mariners will be able to get to a struggling Keuchel and potentially pile on against their lesser bullpen arms.
