Sabonis has been dominant and gets a favorable match-up against an undersized Pels line-up. Zion has been ruled out and Center Jonas Valanciunas left last night’s game with a knee injury and didn’t return. He’s getting an MRI today to determine the severity but he’s on the very wrong side of questionable. New Orleans is a top 10 rebounding team, but Zion and Jonas account for 37.7% of their 44.3 rebounds per game. Bench player Jaxson Hayes is the only player on the Pels roster with the height (7’0) to match-up against Sabonis (7’1) but he’s still 20 pounds lighter. He’s also just not that good. He’s played in just 29 games, averaging 14 minutes. Or they throw Larry Nance JR. at him who’s 3 inches shorter. Without their leading scorer De’Aaron Fox, the ball goes through their 2nd leading Scorer Sabonis, especially on a night where he’s got a clear size advantage.
