These are two of the most prolific offenses in College Football going head-to-head tonight. Ohio State ranks 8th and Georgia 9th in yards per game. OSU averages 44.5 points per game and Georgia 39.2. While the Georgia defense grabs the headlines, this isn’t last years group, and the Buckeyes are the toughest test they’ll get this season. QB CJ Stroud has been torching teams with his NFL WR room, throwing for 37 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions. The Bulldogs play an aggressive downhill defense with plenty of 1 on 1 coverage on the outside. They’ve given up their fair share of long passes and the Buckeyes have 4 receivers averaging over 15 yards per reception. With an offensive line that’s allowed Stroud to get sacked just 8 times and a Georgia defensive line that’s “weaker” than usual, expect plenty of deep shots down the field. LSU also hung up 30 on the Dawgs despite their starting QB missing half the game.
On the other side the Michigan Wolverines just threw up 45 on this Ohio State defense with a similar formula to Georgia. Georgia is going to line up and run the ball and use play-action to take advantage of one of their many mismatches. Michigan had 4 touchdowns 69 yards or longer and another 45-yard touchdown against OSU. Georgia’s roster is equally explosive but have a tight end room like none other. The Buckeyes struggled to tackle Michigan’s athletes and Georgia’s are just as good if not better.
