Joe Ryan looks to be in midseason form already, posting a 1.50 ERA in spring and following it up with 5.1 shutout innings on Opening Day in Baltimore. He’s been consistently strong on the road and has dominated Kansas City — holding a 2.02 ERA in 11 career starts vs the Royals and a 2.25 ERA at Kauffman Stadium. He’s also limited this current roster to a .191 AVG and .259 wOBA across 119 plate appearances.
Noah Cameron was impressive in his rookie campaign with a 2.99 ERA in 24 starts and already has success vs Minnesota. He held them to 1 run across 6.1 innings in one start and followed it with 5.2 scoreless innings in another. The current Twins lineup is hitting just .207 with a .212 wOBA against him.
Even more concerning — Minnesota has struggled badly vs left-handed pitching early, batting just .130 with a .548 OPS.
With both starters in strong form and a favorable matchup history, this sets up as a low-scoring battle.
