Week 4 of the NFL kicks off with the Miami Dolphins traveling to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. The Dolphins are off to a hot 3-0 start while the reigning AFC champs have surprised with a sluggish 1-2 start. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15p.m. eastern time at Paycor Stadium.
Miami Dolphins (3-0)
One of the 2 remaining undefeated teams left, the Dolphins got a scare late in the 2nd quarter last week when Tua left the game with injury, he ultimately returned to open the second half and is expected to play tonight. Tua’s in the midst of a breakout campaign, throwing for 925 yards and 8 touchdowns with a 71.3 completion % through 3 games. The arrival of HC Mike McDaniel’s and Tyreek Hill at WR to pair with the other speedster Jaylen Waddle has this Phins offense looking explosive. RB Raheem Mostert also brings home run ability out of the backfield, but he’s been splitting time with Chase Edmonds. As an offense they currently rank 2nd in pass yards per game and are 4th in 3rd down efficiency. Both Tua and Waddle come into this game banged up, how healthy they are has a massive impact on tonight’s game.
Their defense has been stellar in two home games but has struggled on the road. They let up just 7 points to the Patriots at home in week 1 and held what may be the best offense in football (Bills) to 19 in week 3. They did however get hammered for 38 in Baltimore week 2 but showed up late in the game to give their offense time for that miraculous comeback. They’ve been susceptible to the pass, allowing an average of 297.7 yards per game, 2nd to last in the NFL. Buffalo actually threw up 497 yards of total offense, but Miami tightened up when it counted.
Cincinnati Bengals (1-2)
The reigning AFC champs got off to a rough start, losing to Pittsburgh in week 1 and a Cooper Rush led Cowboys in week 2. The offense was to blame, Burrow turned the ball over 5 times in week 1 then as an offense gained just 254 total yards in week 2. Burrow was sacked 7 times in week 1 and 6 times in week 2. The offensive line has really struggled, large reason why Joe Mixon is averaging just 2.8 yards per carry on 58 attempts. They did just beat up on the Jets last week but that’s not saying a whole lot. Burrow threw for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 27-12 win. Tyler Boyd led the team in receiving, 4 catches for 105 yards and a score. Mixon’s struggles continued, rushing for 24 yards on 12 attempts, he eventually left the game with an ankle injury but will suit up tonight.
This Cincinnati defense has been stellar, they haven’t let up a touchdown in 7 straight quarters. Despite their offense turning the ball over 5 times they still held Pittsburgh to 23 points, allowed 20 to Dallas, then shut down the Jets, allowing 4 field goals. As their offense gets back on track it will only help keep this defense fresh. Trey Hendrickson had a monster day against NY, consistently getting to QB Joe Flacco, he had 2.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. This Miami offense will be their toughest test of the season.

Take Tyler Boyd OVER 39.5 receiving yards tonight. The Dolphins Xavien Howard is one of the better cover corners in football and he’ll be on Jamar Chase or Tee Higgins most of the evening. Just last week against these Dolphins, Josh Allen and the Bills peppered their slot WR Isiah Mckenzie with 9 targets, he reeled in 7 for 76 yards and a touchdown. Miami has the 2nd worst pass defense in the league, allowing 297.7 passing yards a game. With a nonexistent run game, Joe Burrow and the Bengals are going to throw early and often. Tyler Boyd also led the team in receiving last week, going for 105 yards and a score.
