Austin Gomber is throwing the ball very well for Colorado. He's allowed 2 ER or less in 7 of his last 8 starts. He's also allowed just 2ER in all of his previous 3 starts (18 IP) combined. He has yet to allow more than 3 ER against the Dodgers since joining the Rockies in in 2021. The LAD offense has scored just 2 runs in each of their last two games too.
Lance Lynn is making his 3rd start for the Dodgers after being traded by the White Sox. While his first two went well, not convinced he's put the 6.11 ERA behind him. He allowed 3 ER on 7IP to the worst offense in baseball (A's) in his first start. Then allowed 1 ER on 6IP against the Padres who have an OPS of .610 in the last week. He's made other quality starts this year but struggles to consistently. He's allowed less than 3 ER in 3 straight starts just once this season.
While the Rockies aren't strong offensively they do have a few bats swinging it well. If Lynn is the man who's allowed 4ER or more in 13 of his 23 starts the Rockies won't need to be very sharp. He's only allowed 2ER or less in 4 of those 23 starts. He's given up runs and Gomber's done a great job keeping the Rockies in games. Colorado is 6-2 in Gomber's last 8 starts. Great Value on this line.
