Zach Davies has been able to limit the damage thus far but he hasn't been great. He has a 5.4 ERA through 4 starts with a WHIP of 1.64. He gave up 3 ER in 5.2 IP vs the Rockies at home list time out. Touched on the Rockies struggles away from home yesterday. The start prior he lasted just 3.1 innings vs Boston. 5 Hits, 2 Walks, but 2 ER. Dodgers tagged him for 5 ER in 4.1 IP the start before that. Length is an issue with a poor D-Backs bullpen behind him. Most of Arizona's best arms threw yesterday too. Last year Davies posted a 4.77 Road ERA contrary to a 3.16 Home ERA for the D-Backs.
Patrick Corbin starts for the Nats against his formed team. He has a 4.21 ERA through the Month of May and a 4.35 Home ERA in 2023. He's allowed 2 ER in each of his last 3 home starts while pitching at least 6 innings. The Dodgers jumped him in the 1st inning of his last start but he's been pretty sharp this entire Month. We've backed him plenty this month. The Nationals are 5-1 in Corbin's last 6 starts. Offensively the D-Backs are also worse vs LHP than they are right. Lourdes Gurriel is also out of today's lineup. Just their best offensive player.

The Rookie phenom got the call up and showed out. He went 1 for 3 with a double last night but he also walked twice. He was tearing the cover off the baseball in AAA with 12 homeruns and a 1.031 OPS through 38 games. See this a lot with young offensive prospects. They come up and show out before Major League Pitchers begin to figure them out. Syndegard starts for the Dodgers and he's been awful. BA against of .302 and a 6.54 ERA. He's only walked 9 batters despite those struggles which is a good thing. He continues to challenge hitters. His Road ERA is up at 9.9 and he's allowed 10 Homeruns on the season. The Dodgers bullpen also ranks 26th with a 4.77 ERA for whenever he's pulled. Good hitting conditions at one of the easiest ballparks to leave the yard for the Rookie today.
