Aaron Nola hasn't been pitching great and he struggles on the road. He's allowed 4ER or more in 4 of his last 6 starts as well as his last 4 road starts. He has a 5.14 Road ERA in 8 starts and the road struggles are nothing new. His career road ERA sits at 4.13 compared to a 3.23 at home. He has a 8.41 ERA in 4 career starts against the D-Backs and a 12.0 ERA in 2 starts at Arizona. He's also struggled in day games, posting a 5.14 ERA in 7 starts.

Ryne Nelson for AZ continues to improve. He's fresh off his best start of 2023, throwing 5.2 scoreless innings. He made a start in Philly on May 23rd and shut them down. He went 6 innings allowing just 1 run on 3 hits. He also didn't walk a single batter. He's pitched to a 3.04 ERA over his last 5 starts. Allowing 9 Runs in total, 5 of which came in 1 start against a Colorado team with great numbers against him.

Something to be said about AZ dropping the last 2 of this 4 game set. They've lost 3 games in a row just twice this season and it's been a combined effort. No single team has taken 3 straight from them in 2023. That includes series against teams they've faced multiple times. PHI got two tremendous starts from Ranger Suarez who has a .9 ERA in 3 June Starts and Zach Wheeler who's allowed just 1 ER in 3 of his last 4 combined starts.

Arizona has scored on Philly's bullpen in both games. Scoring 2 Runs after Wheeler departed after 6IP and 3 Runs after Suarez departed after 7IP. They also put up 9 Runs on PHI's bullpen day back on Monday. With Nola's struggled and a taxed bullpen, D-Backs offense should provide their pitching staff with the needed run support.
