He’s headed into Great American Ballpark, the most hitter friendly ballpark in recent years. The Yankees bullpen has also been decimated by injuries, which is part of the reason they let him keep pitching despite being shelled. They’re down 5 guys that would usually be in their bullpen. They were also asked to record 24 outs in the last 4 days.
Reds roll out Ben Lively to open things up. He’ll likely go 1 time through the order before the Reds continue with their bullpen. He’s allowed just 1 ER in 5.1 IP. Cincinnati actually has a decent bullpen too, 3.75 ERA over 173 innings pitched. They rank 10th on the year. They’re also fresh and rested. They had yesterday off and only 1 guy has pitched twice since Monday. Yankees offense has been all Aaron Judge lately. They scored 4 yesterday and got shutout over 10 innings the day prior. Judge has also played 10 straight days since returning from the IL. There’s a chance he’s held out of this game and if you wait and see you’ll get the Reds +130 as opposed to +150.
Today’s the Reds best chance at taking a game against the Yankees and setting themselves up to win the Series. They’re 12-9 playing at home this year and NY is 10-10 on the road.
