A 3 run half inning extended by a 70 MPH bloop fly ball, bunt single, and finally a deflection off the shortstops glove on another weakly hit ball. He's pitched well of late and tossed 6 shutout innings the last time he faced Chicago. CHC SP Javiar Assad has a 2.2 ERA in 10 starts at Wrigley Field this year, allowing 2ER or less in 9 of them. He's allowed 2ER or less in 15 of his 20 starts be it Home or Away. Both bullpens are in great shape and their high leverage arms will get worked as both teams have the day off tomorrow. After falling behind yesterday the Twins let their worst reliever, Randy Dobnak, pitch the rest of the way after pulling starter Pablo Lopez. The Cubs got 7 innings out of Imanaga and both of the relievers who threw yesterday are available again today. 15+MPH Winds blowing in today. These two combined for 10 runs on just 14 hits and 3 walks yesterday. Every big swing coming at the opportune time and down the LF Line to get through the wind.
6:40PM EST: SD/PIT Under 8 (4 Units).
SD SP Michael King has allowed 2 Runs or Less in 11 of his last 12 starts. The Pirates roster has just 13 career at bats against King between 4 hitters and they're hitless. He's got the best bullpen in baseball behind him, and they just tossed 8 scoreless innings against Pittsburgh yesterday after the rain delay forced SD to pull Cease. San Diego's top relievers all available. PIT SP Marco Gonzales is coming off a tough outing in Arizona his last time out, but Chase Field's the 3rd most hitter friendly park in baseball and Arizona ranks 2nd in OPS vs LHP. He's at Home today, the Padres are 20th in OPS vs LHP, and they have a .259 xwOBA in 59 career plate appearances against him.
