3 Picks (9 Units).
6:45PM EST: Phillies -1.5 +120 (3 Units).
LP: C. Cavalli (PHI) / T. Walker (PHI).
Cade Cavalli has pitched pretty well through his first 3 big league starts. He just tossed 7 scoreless against these Phillies last week. He did allow 4 ER on 7 hits and 3 walks across 5 IP in his only career road start. Before getting called up he allowed 4 runs or more in 5 of his last 6 Triple A starts. Being in Philly in a back-to-back we like the Phillies to break through. PHI SP T. Walker has a 2.89 ERA over his last 7 starts and a 1.45 ERA in 3 August Starts.
7:05PM EST: Red Sox ML +155 (4 Units).
LP: B. Bello (BOS) / M. Fried (NYY).
Bello's allowed 3 ER or less in 15 of his last 16 starts. He's allowed 2 ER or less in 8 of his last 12. He's been a staple of consistency this season. In 9 career starts vs the Yankees he owns a 2.21 ERA. He has a 1.85 ERA in 4 career starts at Yankees stadium. The current Yankees roster has a .196 xBA and .266 xwOBA in 102 career plate appearances vs Bello. NYY SP Max Fried continues to struggle. He has a 6.94 ERA over his last 7 starts. He's allowed 4 runs in 7 of his last 8 starts.
9:40PM EST: Padres ML +105 (4 Units).
LP: Y. Darvish (SD).
We backed Darvish against LA in his most recent start and he labored early. He still boasts some of the best career numbers against the Dodgers all time. He also locked in just fine after struggling in the first inning. This will now be his 9th start since coming off the IL and we trust a more complete performance with him at Home. He tossed 7 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits in his most recent home start against the Mets. Tall order for SD's offense against Blake Snell but this is just Snell’s 6th start of the year and 4th since coming off the IL in August. Padres have a lot of familiarity with Snell considering he pitched for them from 2021-2023. The Padres #1 ranked bullpen has everyone available. They're 1 game back from LA in the NL West and there's no saving anybody. The Dodgers just played a 4-game set in Colorado and pitches just come in differently there. Offenses have a tendency to struggle following a trip to Coors Field.
