MLB

4 Picks.

12:35PM EST: Orioles -1.5 -120 (2 Units). Toronto send out Paolo Espino to start after being depleted by their fire sale at the deadline. He has a 5.09 ERA at AAA this season and a career 5.06 ERA in the Majors. He's 37 now and gave up 4 runs over 4.2 IP in his 2 relief appearances back in April. The Orioles offense has turned it back on scoring 46 runs over their last 7 games. They've beat up on some bad Blue Jays pitching and they're going to see more of it. Their offensive spark started when Colton Cowser (our AL ROTY futures bet) was moved to leadoff. He's red hot with a 1.053 OPS since the Break. BAL SP Grayson Rodriguez has a 3.19 ERA at Home, allowing 2ER or less in all but 2 starts. He's faced the Blue Jays once this season, allowing 1ER over 6.2 IP at Toronto. This Blue Jays lineup is depleted after trading away a few key bats and Catcher Alejandro Kirk is on the bench.

12:35PM EST: Nestor Cortes Under 16.5. Outs (1 Units). Cortes has gone under this prop in 9 of his 11 road starts this year. He's gone under this in 4 of his last 5 starts be it Home or Away. The Phillies offense ranks 1st in OPS against Left-Handed Pitching. New York's bullpen's is in good shape and they bolstered it at the deadline by adding Mark Leiter Jr from the Cubs. 1:10PM EST: Twins ML (2 Units) MIN SP Pablo Lopez has made 2 starts since the All-Star Break, allowing 1 and 2 earned runs, tossing 7 innings in both. He also allowed just 2ER in his final start leading up to the Break. The Mets offense had been humming for a bit but they've cooled off. They've scored 2 runs or less in 3 of their last 4 and 3 or less in 7 of their last 11. NYM SP Luis Severino has been inconsistent of late. He has a 4.43 ERA over his last 7 starts, allowing 4 or more in 3 of them. He let up 2 ER over 5IP on 7 hits and 2 walks his last time out.

8:40PM EST: Padres ML -130 (3 Units). LAD SP Clayton Kershaw made his 1st start of the season last week at Home vs SF after a lengthy recovery from shoulder surgery. He allowed 2 runs over 4IP on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 5 Hard-Hit Balls. He avoided damage against a weak SF lineup. He goes into SD tonight to face a Padres lineup that's scored 6 or more runs in 4 straight and 5 of their last 6 games. He let up 4 runs over 4.2 IP on 8 hits and 5 walks in his most recent trip to SD a season ago. SD SP Dylan Cease just threw a no hitter on 114 pitches. He's thrown 100 or more in 13 of his 22 starts this season and is working on an extra days rest so we aren't worried about arm fatigue. He hasn't allowed a run in 3 straight starts and he surrendered just 1 hit in each of his 2 starts leading up to his no hitter. San Diego's bullpen shutout LA allowing just 2 hits in 6 innings of work last night and it's fully loaded. They had Monday off and get tomorrow off as well so no need to save them. Trade Deadline acquisitions Tanner Scott and Bryan Hoeing are available for the first time tonight too. Arguably the best bullpen in baseball right now.
