MLB
4 Picks. Game 1 3:05PM EST:
Blue Jays First 5 ML +150 (2 Units).
Blue Jays First 5 Runline +.5 +105 (2 Units). TOR SP Yariel Rodriguez has a 2.01 ERA through 4 starts in the Month of July, not allowing more than 2 runs in any start. He was a big FA signing from Japan but dealt with injuries to begin his MLB career. He's healthy and looks every bit the signing he was chalked up to be, striking out 25 over 22.1 IP with a .123 opponent BA and .76 WHIP this Month. He has yet to face Baltimore which gives him an edge off the rip. He's limited to about 80 pitches but has pitched 5.2 innings or more in 3 of his 4 July starts. In those 3 starts he's allowed 3 Runs combined, all coming in the 5th inning or later. Baltimore's offense finally had a good day yesterday, but we aren't convinced. They had 1 big inning and plated 6 runs when San Diego lost the zone and walked 3. They also dropped in a bloop single with an xBA of .110. They rank 23rd in OPS in the Month of July.
Zach Eflin will make his Orioles debut after being acquired via trade from Tampa. He had pitched well at the Trop for TB, but he has a 5.32 ERA on the Road, and this is his first "Home" start for Baltimore. This is going to be his 4th start against the Blue Jays this season. TOR has a .296 BA and .850 OPS in 71 at bats against Eflin this season. The recently traded Danny Jansen took just 3 of those 71 at bats. Eflin allowed 6, 4, and 2 runs in his 3 starts against Toronto. The Blue Jays offense has scored 6 or more in 4 of their last 5 games. It's a tall order for any Pitcher and he has the added pressure of being recently acquired
Toronto's traded some relievers already with more for sale. For obvious reasons that's not a bullpen we're comfortable betting on hence the first 5. Baltimore's also without All-Star Catcher Adley Rutschman for this game which hurts both offensively and defensively. 6:40PM EST: CLE/DET Over 3.5 VOID (SP Jack Flaherty Scratched) Tanner Bibbee and Jack Flaherty are a pair of pitchers that we've backed recently and are throwing well. They're just facing these lineups in back-to-back starts and for the 3rd time in just 3 weeks. Bibbee is making his 4th start against Detroit this year and has allowed 4 runs in the First 5 innings in 2 of his previous 3 starts against them. These bullpens have also been lights out of late which is why this full game total is down at 7. There's a very good chance this game goes scoreless once these two come out. It's just not easy to face the same lineup twice, let alone a third time, and all within 3 weeks. There's a ton of familiarity and they don't need to square up many to get 4 runs.
