3 Picks (11 Units).
6:40PM EST: COL/CLE Under 9 (3 Units).
LP: B. Blalock (COL) / S. Cecconi (CLE).
Blalock has pitched to his strengths in 2 starts since getting called back up. He allowed 2 ER on 5.1 IP at Home against the Cardinals his last time out and 1 ER on 5.2 IP @ CIN his first start back. Those are two of the most hitter friendly venues in baseball. Colorado's best relievers are set to follow him after having each of the last 2 days off. The Guardians have scored 3 runs or less in 4 of their last 5 games. CLE SP Clade Cecconi had a 2.7 ERA in 5 June starts and has a 3.95 ERA in 4 July Starts. He allowed 2 ER exactly and recorded a quality start in 3 of his 4 July starts. The only non-quality came when they let him go for a complete game in a lopsided win vs the Athletics. He allowed 3 ER through 8 and got tagged for 3 more in the 9th. He finished the day with 6 ER on 8.1 IP. Colorado's scored 1 run their last 2 games.
7:10PM EST: Reds ML +140 (4 Units).
LP: C. Burns (CIN).
Yamamoto's had some consistency issues since the start of June. He's allowed 3 runs or more in 5 of 9 starts since then. He's also failed to pitch past the 5th inning in 5 of those 9 starts. The Dodgers bullpen now ranks 27th in ERA and that's a rank they continue to fall in. They're in trouble after losing closer Tanner Scott to the IL. Big reason they're 3-6 their last 9 games. The Reds bats have plated 5 or more runs in 6 of 9 games since the break. CIN SP Chase Burns has had some issues facing a lineup for the 3rd time but his stuff's undeniable, striking out 10 in each of his last 2 starts. He allowed 3 ER on 5 IP in his first Home start and 2 ER on 6 IP in his 2nd. This will be his 3rd start at Home.
9:45PM EST: PIT/SF Under 8 (4 Units).
LP: M. Keller (PIT) / C. Whisenhunt (SF).
Mitch Keller has been one of the best pitchers in baseball for the better part of the last 2 Months. He has a 2.59 ERA over his last 8 starts and hasn't allowed more than 3 runs during that span. He's recorded 6 quality starts and came up a combined 3 outs shy in the 2 outliers. The Giants offense scored just 5 combined runs in their 3-game set vs the Mets. SF SP Carson Whisenhunt is making his MLB debut. He allowed 2 ER or less in each of his last 3 AAA starts. It's an ideal match-up for his first start. He's at Home in the Pitcher Friendly confines of Oracle Park, it's an abnormally colder day, and the Pirates are dead last in OPS this season at .640. They're even worse against LHP, ranking last with a .608 OPS. He's backed by the 2nd best bullpen in baseball and despite the bullpen day yesterday, the Giants top 2 relievers got the day off.
