MLB
2 Picks.
7:05PM: Orioles ML +120 (5 Units).
BAL SP Albert Suarez has a 1.61 ERA this season and has allowed just 3ER combined over his last 4 starts. He shut out Atlanta over 5.1 IP his last time out. He went over to Japan after flaming out of the MLB in 2017 and turned into a prized FA addition. The Yankees have yet to face him since joining Baltimore. The Orioles also have the top performing bullpen of the last Month + and it's freshly rested after a day off.
NYY SP Nestor Cortes has pitched quite well at Home this season, but he hasn't been his usual dominant self this year. He has a good ERA at 3.59 but has failed to complete 6 innings in over half his starts. He allowed 4ER over 5.1 IP at Home to the Dodgers his last time out and has a 4.86 ERA in June. He took the loss against Baltimore allowing 4ER the first time these two met this season. He also allowed 4ER against Baltimore the last time he saw them in 2023. Baltimore has the 3rd best OPS vs LHP this season and the Yankees bullpen has regressed a bit since it's absurd start.
8:05PM: Giants ML -110 (5 Units).
85+ with near 20MPH winds blowing out at Wrigley and no ballpark is affected more by the wind. It's going to play a big role here and another reason to back sinker baller Logan Webb. Webb has a 1.91 GO/AO ratio and has allowed just 4 HR over 15 starts and 92.1 IP this season. He had some early struggles away from Home this year but has fired off 3 straight quality starts on the road, allowing just 4ER combined (20 IP). He's gone into Wrigley once in each of the past 2 seasons, allowing 3ER over 6.2 IP last year and 2ER over 7IP the year prior. The Cubs are also hitting just .225 with a .669 OPS in the Month of June. They've scored 2 or less in 4 of their last 7 games and averaged 2.85 runs per game over that span.
The Lefty Justin Steele starts for the Cubs. He's 0-3 despite a 3.22 ERA in 9 starts. He has a 4.15 ERA in 4 Home starts and has surrendered 5 runs (not all earned) in each of his last 3 Home starts. He has a career season low 1.04 GO/AO ratio at the moment. The SF Giants are a league average offense but they're 5th in OPS vs LHP. They have a .904 OPS over the last week and have scored 5 or more runs in 8 of their last 14 games.
