1:05PM EST: Phillies Team Total Over 4.5 (4 Units).
Toronto SP Chris Bassitt has a 5.45 ERA this season. He allowed 3 Runs across 6IP to the Royals his last time out, 7 runs across 2.2 IP to the Dodgers the start prior and has given up 4 runs in all 3 of his road starts this season. Even in a good year last year he had a 4.5 ERA. The Phillies roster has a .267 BA in 90 career plate appearances against Bassitt. The Blue Jays bullpen has been terrible outside of their setup and closer too. The Phillies offense has been hot, scoring 5 or more in 4 straight games and 10 of their last 12. Great hitting weather with 85° Temps, 50% humidity, and 13MPH winds blowing out to RF. 2:10PM EST: MIL/KC Under 9 (4 Units). MIL SP Joe Ross has a 4.65 ERA but has been a 2.04 ERA in 3 road starts. That's been a theme throughout his career, 4.7 Home ERA compared to 3.82 Road ERA. Only 7 career combined at bats against Ross on the Royals from Hunter Renfroe and Adam Frazier, who are hitting .155 and .164. The day game after the night game has kept Catcher Salvador Perez out of the lineup. He's 11th in OPS among qualified hitters. With Milwaukee stealing last night's game in the 9th, their high leverage arms are ready to roll.
KC SP Brady Singer has a 2.45 ERA through 7 starts. He's allowed 1 Run or fewer in 5 of them and 2 runs in another. He had one tough start against Toronto and has been lights out in every other. The addition of the 4-Seam Fastball has been a revelation for Singer, allowing him to challenge hitters vertically instead of just horizontally. He throws it just 14% of the time but it's worked wonders to generate more swings and misses and made it a lot more difficult to square up his Sinker. Milwaukee had scored just 10 combined runs in their previous 4 games, and it was set for another quiet night before Adames hit a go ahead 3-run Homer with the Brewers down to their final out. Milwaukee has just 9 career at bats between 2 batters against Singer and they’re 0-9. The Royals bullpen has been good this year and they have plenty of quality arms available today.
