4:05PM: Pirates ML +135 (4 Units).
Mitch Keller is 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA through 3 May Starts. His lone May home start was a complete game against the Angels allowing just 1 run. He allowed 2 runs over 6 IP at Wrigley his last time out on just 83 pitches so he'll be feeling fresh today. The Braves have a stud of their own on the Mound in Reynaldo Lopez, but the Pirates offense has been much better of late. Pittsburgh's scored 29 runs over their last 4 games and 5 or more in 6 of their last 8. Atlanta's scored 3 or less in 8 of their last 12. The oddsmakers treat Atlanta as if they have their 2023 league leading .845 OPS still. But the truth is they're 7th in OPS this year at .729. That would have ranked 17th a season ago. They rank 18th in OPS over the last week as well. The Pirates’ bullpens in great shape after Bailey Falter tossed 7.1 innings yesterday.
9:10PM: PHI/COL Over 10.5 (3 Units).
These bullpens are heavily taxed, especially Colorado's. The Rockies have played 3 straight extra-inning games, two 11 innings and the other 12 innings. Dakota Hudson starts for Colorado, and he has a 9.0 ERA at Coors Field. He turned in a quality start in his first Home start, but he's allowed 14 runs over his last 3 starts (11IP). He's failed to pitch deep, but the Rockies need him to today. Could be a very ugly day for Hudson as manager Bud Black forces him to push through.
Aaron Nola starts for Philly. He's pitched well of late, but he has a career 4.15 road ERA and a 4.22 ERA at Coors Field. The Rockies offense has also been solid of late, ranking 8th in OPS over the last 15 days. Only 3 of the 12 games over that span were played at Coors Field too. The Phillies top 2 relievers are likely unavailable as well having thrown 2 straight days and 3 of their last 4. Should be some big half innings in this game today.
