Both starters are set to make their first career playoff start. NYY SP Luis Gil allowed 6 and 4 runs in his last 2 regular season starts. He also gave up 3 runs on 3 IP at Home vs CLE on August 20th. CLE SP Gavin Williams pitched well in 5 of his final 6 regular season starts. Allowing 3ER in 5 and 2ER or less in 4. Be a little easier on Williams with him pitching at Home and not against a crowd.
Bullpens will need to get some big outs for both teams. The Yankees bullpen is just a bit exhausted. Their top 3 arms threw in each of the first 3 games, and it was their 2 "closers" that blew the game last night. They do have a 5th starter with Marcus Stroman in the bullpen and there's a decent chance he comes in after Gil. Either way their bullpen isn't in a great spot here. The Guardians phenomenal regular season bullpen has been unimpressive in post-season play but it’s a lot of very good arms that are rested and ready.
