7:38PM: Guardians ML +140 (2 Units).
A whole lot of value on good Guardians pitching. CLE SP Tanner Bibee had a 2.95 ERA in 25 starts last year and a 3.47 in 31 starts this year. He also had a 2.76 ERA on the road this season. His only career start against the Yankees was in the Bronx, he allowed 2 ER on 5.1 IP. He's allowed just 2 ER on 8.2 IP in 2 Playoff starts this year. He'll see this Yankees lineup 2x through before he hands it off to the best bullpen in baseball. It's the same formula that led to 2 of the 3 Guardians wins vs Detroit in the ALDS. Cleveland didn't use any of its top 5 relievers in Game 1. Both teams had off Sunday and will have off tomorrow so it's not like Cleveland needs to save them. They'll be well rested for the 3-Game homestand regardless.
NYY SP Gerrit Cole is as tough as any when he's one, but the Guardians have the arms to match. Cole's been far less dominant in the post-season for the Yankees compared to his Houston days too. He tossed 7 innings of 1 run ball @ KC in Game 4 of the ALDS but gave up 4 runs on 5 IP at Home in Game 1. He gave up 5 runs on 5IP in his final post-season start of 2022. In 2021 he lasted just 2 innings, giving up 3 runs. He does have a 4.31 ERA at Home this season. Only 3 of his 9 playoff starts for the Yankees have come at Home and he's allowed 10 runs on 16.1 IP. He's allowed 4 and 5 in his last 2. The Guardians also did a nice job hanging around and forcing the Yankees to use Closer Luke Weaver to record 5 outs last night.
