3 Picks

1:10PM EST: Twins ML -110 (3 Units).

LP: S. Woods-Richardson (MIN) / Ben Lively (CLE)

MIN SP Simeon Woods-Richardson has a 3.6 ERA in 4 starts this year. He's not one to provide length and that's a good thing for today. The Twins bullpen is 9th in ERA and all of their best arms are available. Going to be hard for the Guardians to score runs once he comes out of the game. CLE is 24th in OPS over the last week. CLE SP Ben Lively has a 4.4 ERA and 5.12 xERA. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks across 5 IP at Home against the Red Sox his last time out. Minnesota's 6th in OPS over the last week and 9th over the last 15 days. Relievers Cade Smith and Emmanuel Clase have both pitched the last 2 days for the Guardians too. They've thrown 46 and 50 pitches over ther last 5 days and are likely unavailable. That's their set up and closer.

2:35PM EST: A's ML +115 (3 Units).

LP: J. Springs (ATH) / T. Mahle (TEX).

ATH SP Jeffrey Springs pitches well whenever he survives the first inning. He has an xERA of 4.32, a considerable drop from his actual ERA. His Hard-Hit Rate is at 32.6 % and truly deserves better with those numbers. The Rangers have struggled against Lefties, batting .241 with a .661 OPS. They've also failed to score more than 2 runs in 6 of their last 8 games and 3 runs in 7 of their last 8. TEX SP Tyler Mahle has been lucky, posting a 1.14 ERA compared to a 3.41 xERA. Those wheels started to come off in his most recent start, allowing 2 ER on 8 hits and 1 walk with just 1 strikeout across 5 IP @ SF. He's a fly ball pitcher and has been customarily burned by the long ball throughout his career. Miraculously he has yet to allow one this season but the A's are 6th in AB/HR.

6:45PM EST: Nationals ML +150 (3 Units).

LP: B. Lord (WSH) / T. Walker (PHI). WSH SP Brad Lord started the season in the bullpen but has since moved into a starter’s role. He's improved in each of his 3 most recent starts and gotten his pitch count up to 80. The Phillies have just 1 career PA against him, so he'll have that working for him early. He just needs to be decent as it's Washington's bats that we're relying on today. PHI SP T. Walker has an xERA of 3.95. He allowed 2 ER on 6 Hits and 2 Walks across just 3 IP at Chicago his last time out. Start prior to that he lasted just 4 innings vs Miami. 3 Starts ago he allowed 6 runs on 5 IP vs SF. He's gone past 5 innings just once this year and it was his first start of the season at Home against the dreadful Rockies offense. The Nationals are plenty familiar with Walker as NL East rivals, and it'll be hard for him to be efficient today. The Phillies bullpen is 27th in ERA and Washington's lineup has done well. They're 9th in OPS over the last week and scored 4 or more in 6 of their last 9 games. Prior to scoring 2 runs yesterday they scored 6, 5, and 8 runs in the 3 games leading up to it. They hit Sanchez pretty hard yesterday with little results to show for it. They're also considerably stronger vs RHP compared to LHP.
