2:35PM EST: Pirates ML +130 (2 Units).
PIT SP Domingo Germán was added to the Pirates active roster on August 9th. He made a 4-inning relief appearance against the Dodgers in LA that day, allowing 2 ER on 1 hit and a pair of walks. He followed that up with 2 shutout innings of relief against the Padres in SD, again allowing just 1 hit. He did struggle with command in his most recent relief appearance, as he plunked a couple batters. He's a true starter, with 89 career starts in his 115 games played. Like him to pitch more like his first couple appearances, especially in his natural role. This Rangers offense has struggled of late, scoring 3 or less runs in 4 of their last 6 games. They've scored a combined 17 runs in their last 6 games. They were shutout by PIT last night and Mitch Keller's 7 inning gem has left the Pirates bullpen in great shape.
TEX SP Andrew Heaney has allowed 4 or more runs in 4 of his last 5 starts. He's also failed to pitch past the 5th inning in 6 of his last 7 starts. The Rangers bullpen ranks 26th in ERA and they are very top heavy. Their setup/closer duo of David Robertson and Kirby Yates are the only 2 truly reliable arms over the last Month.
