Rams Player Prop: Cam Akers Over 54.5 Rushing Yards

ree

After a tumultuous start to the NFL season, Cam Akers has cemented himself atop the Rams RB depth chart once again. He’s had some success rushing lately, going for at least 60 yards in 2 of his last 4 games. The two he didn’t… QB Baker Mayfield started on Thursday Night after joining the team on a Monday and the other came against the Chiefs when they were in a negative game script and playing catch-up (averaged 4.6 YPC in that game though). Tonight will be a more competitive game against a struggling Packers team. It’s an incredibly friendly match-up as every starting RB the Packers have faced has gone over 55 rushing yards in 10 straight games. Some of those 10 straight games have seen multiple backs eclipse the 55 yards rushing mark. Baker Mayfield will help open this offense up too, he may not be great but he’s better than John Wolford… He has the arm to keep a defense honest, letting Akers exploit a weak GB run defense.

Packers Player Prop: Aaron Jones Under 59.5 rushing yards.

First off, Aaron Jones has been limited all week with an Ankle injury. He’s going to play of course but it’s worth noting the explosive back isn’t 100%. He’s also failed to go over 43 rushing yards in 4 of his last 5 games and has seen more than 12 carries just once during that stretch. The RB2 AJ Dillon has outperformed Jones in their last 2 games and had twice as many carries as Jones their last time out. The Rams defense is also very good against the run. They’ve held starting running backs below 3.7 yards per carry in each of their last 6 games. Which is even more impressive considering the amount of time they’re on the field. The Rams rank 31st in time of possession. So, despite trailing in games and playing a ton of defensive snaps, the Rams run defense still ranks 4th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed and yards per carry. The good news for the LAR, the Packers rank just 26th in time of possession so they should see some relief and remain fresh throughout the night. Limited opportunities in a timeshare against a strong run defense!? Under the rushing prop EVERY TIME!
