A short-handed Mavericks team just put up 125 against what had been a good Lakers defense. Bit of a hangover from the in-season tournament. Part of that's due to an older Lakers roster. Early in the year to be playing high intensity games every other night. They left last night's game vs Dallas a bit banged up. Lebron dealing with a calf injury and Anthony Davis dealing with a hip. This is a perfect spot for the Lakers to try and get their stars some rest following a tough week. That's part of the reason this line is just +3.5.
The Spurs are in the midst of a franchise record 17 game losing streak, but they've competed at Home. Going back, they lost by 9 to the Bulls in their last home game after squandering an 11-point halftime lead. Lost by 2 to the Atlanta Hawks and by 7 to a fully loaded Clippers team. The Lakers are also just 4-8 on the road this season too.
The LAL will also be without J. Hood-Schifano, and J. Vanderbilt is also Questionable after missing last night's contest. If there's a team to rest your guys against this season it's the Spurs and it's a prime spot for it. These two meet again on Friday and then the Lakers won't play again until Monday. Can provide the Vets with plenty of rest and potentially win tonight. The Spurs have the offensive firepower to keep this close. They rank 9th in points per game and with plenty of scoring depth they'll match-up just fine against a short-handed Lakers team.
