Runline: Royals +1.5 (-165) / Mariners -1.5 (+140)
Total: Over/Under 7.5
Kris Bubic will start for the Royals. His first start of the year saw him record just 2 outs whilst allowing 5 ER. His last start against the Tigers was better, 4.1 IP with just 1 ER. He did walk 6 batters but was able to navigate around the traffic. He made 1 start in SEA last year and the Mariners crushed him. They racked up 13 baserunners on 9 hits and 4 walks, 5 of which came across home plate. He left after 4.1 IP.
Rookie Matt Brash takes the mound for the Mariners. He went 5.1 IP and allowed 2ER in both of his first two big league starts. His stuff has been electric and MLB hitters are having a hard time getting the ball in the air. Through 2 starts he has a Ground Out/Air Out ratio of 2.4. Meaning he gets A LOT of his outs on ground balls. The 25th ranked slugging offense (KC) will have a hard time plating runs with an inability to drive the ball out of the park.
The KC Royals are just 3-9 their L12 games as an underdog and 0-4 L4 road games as an underdog. The Mariners meanwhile are 5-2 their L7 and 9-4 their L13 as a favorite. Seattle has also owned KC lately, going 13-6 in their L19 meetings.
