The Philadelphia Eagles are great up and down the roster, but are best where it matters most, at the line of scrimmage. They have the best offensive and defensive line in the league. An offensive line that just ragdolled the #1 rushing defense in the NFL and a front 7 that leads the league in sacks (4.1 per game). Reddick, Sweat, Hargrave, Cox, Graham, Davis, & Suh. Very deep. It’s a pass rush that’s paved the way for the #1 passing defense. They will get to Mahomes and move him off his spot. A Mahomes that’s still dealing with a high ankle sprain too. He won’t be as lethal as he usually is when it comes to off script plays.
Defensively the Chiefs boast a formidable front 4 but that’s about it. They aren’t as strong as the Eagles in the back end. They rank 19th in Passing yards allowed per game and let Burrow throw for 270 in the AFC championship game. The Bengals were also down 3 starting offensive lineman in that game. The one thing Cinci couldn’t do was run, which won’t be an issue for Philly. KC is a middle of the pack run defense as is and PHI has the best OL with a dual threat QB.
Those dominant lines are why it will stay under too. The Eagles offense runs through their Offensive line while their defensive line keeps teams from pushing it downfield. KC already operates a short quick passing game but even more so today against an elite pass rush. The Chiefs have also run the ball more this season, and there’s no better way to neutralize a pass rush then running the football. Eagles Line of Scrimmage controls this game, Birds and the Under!
