Couple of young guys pitching well but Houston’s Hunter Brown has been the better arm. He hasn’t given up an Earned Run in his last 2 starts and his big-league success makes more sense than his counterparts. He pitched to a 2.55 ERA in AAA and a .89 ERA during his brief call up to the bigs in 2022. He allowed just 1 ER in his final 2 spring training starts as well. His average exit Velo allowed is just 88.5 and average launch angle is 5.2. Weak contact down on the ground.
The Braves Brcye Elder has an xERA of 3.72 despite his actual ERA of 1.53. He had a 3.17 ERA in 10 MLB appearances during 2022. He had a 4.46 ERA at AAA last season and gave up 4ER in 6IP in his lone AAA start this year. He just went 5.1 IP against the worst offense in baseball and surrendered 3 ER on 8 hits and a pair of walks. He’s allowing a hard-hit ball 47.9% of the time, which is high.
Atlanta has yet to play a game vs a team with a winning record too. Astros on the other hand have played 12 games. Their team records are a bit misleading.
