CFB (2 Picks)

7:30PM EST: Michigan -5 ( 4 Units)

Washington's defense did just enough against Texas but they're still a bad group. They gave up 498 yards of total offense, including 180 yards on the ground. Texas just ran out of clock and were a play away from winning that game. Michigan's offense played rather terribly for the overwhelming majority of the Alabama game and they still managed to move the ball and score against an Elite defense. The ground game should be very effective against Washington today.

Nobody is picking the Huskies because of their defense. Ultimately this game comes down to stopping Michael Penix and that aerial attack. Texas was able to outright shut down their ground game and Michigan will be able to do the same. The Longhorns just weren't able to get to Penix when he dropped back to pass. The weakest part of that Texas roster was it's secondary and they got exploited. Michigan has one of the best secondary's in CFB, the more complete front 7, and a better defensive coordinator too. Washington was able to beat Texas with a 1 dimensional offense but that's hard to repeat.

DC Jesse Minter comes from the Baltimore Ravens coaching tree and he calls an NFL defense. They've gotten consistent pressure on everyone they've played and they just sacked Milroe 6 times. Minter loves to dial up pressure from all over the field and he'll find ways to bust the Huskies pass protection from scheme alone. This is easily the best and deepest front 7 that Washington has to face. Their offensive line hasn't been stumped just yet but they're going up a notch here.

We believe Michigan's A-Game is just a step above Washington's. They're the most complete and well rounded team in College Football. They truly should have destroyed Alabama in the Sem-Finals last week but they weren't at their best. The Month off, the moment, whatever it was they were able to get that out of their system and we like them to play a full 60 minutes tonight. As impressive as Washington's win over Texas was, they came down with nearly every 50/50 ball and made some incredible catches throughout the game. Catches on balls that could have easily been intercepted. There's a lot of talent in that receiving room but that's also a weak Texas secondary. They aren't going to have that same luxury against Michigan. Much lesser defense's than Michigan have slowed down the Huskies this season.

7:30PM EST: (UM) Donovan Edwards Over 30.5 Rushing Yards (3 Units).

Michigan is going to run the ball early and often today. They've bullied everyone all season long but the Kings of the SEC didn't let that happen. Washington just gave up 180 rushing yards to Texas and they barely even tried. Baxter and Blue had 9 carries a piece and QB Quin Ewers had 8. They all averaged over 6 yards per carry. Starting RB Blake Corum's rushing total is up over 102 yards everywhere and he's only eclipsed that number once. Washington's defense is susceptible to explosive runs and that's Edwards game. He possesses more of a HR threat and he comes in after Corum's battered the defense a bit.

Edwards received 10+ carries in each of Michigan's final 3 regular season games. They were their biggest 3 games against Ohio State, Penn State, and Maryland. He went over this rushing yard total in all 3. Against Iowa in the Big 10 championship he received just 4 carries but took them for 28 yards. There weren't many offensive snaps in that boring grind it out slugfest. He also received just 4 carries against Alabama and that's credit to the tides defense for disrupting the ground game but Michigan shot themselves in the foot all game long. When Michigan plays their brand of football, Edwards gets involved. Washington's defense hasn't stopped or even slowed down a single elite offense this year. They should stay on schedule tonight and Edwards will be a factor because of it.
