8:15PM EST: PHI/GB Over 49.5 (3 Units). Two strong offensive teams with two new defensive coordinators. Green Bay goes from a 3-4 to 4-3, and Philly ushers in one of the most complex defensive schemes under DC Vic Fangio. These two ranked 7th and 8th in scoring offense last season and their counterparts struggled where they succeeded. Philly ranked 30th in passing yards and 31st in passing touchdowns allowed per game. GB ranked 2nd in passing touchdowns per game. The Packers ranked 28th in rushing yards allowed per game and 24th in rushing touchdowns allowed per game. PHI ranked 9th in rushing YPG and 6th in rushing touchdowns per game.
The Green Bay offense should improve with Jordan Love entering his 2nd full year as a starter. They struggled in the first half but averaged 27.3 points per game over their last 10. That was with two of their best weapons battling injuries all year. Love has his full complement of receivers to attack an inexperienced Eagles secondary tonight.
Philly has to replace Jason Kelce at Center, but they do so with his handpicked replacement Cam Jurgens, who started every game next to him last year. They also went out and singed former 1st round pick Mekhi Becton and bumped him inside to Guard. The rest of their line remains unchanged, and this Unit will be among the best in Football once again. The biggest addition is RB Saquon Barkley. It will also be a different looking offense with Kellen Moore calling plays. It went stale under Siriani in the 2nd half of last season and there was too much talent on this roster for that. Jalen Hurts was also banged up for much of last season. This offense will be one of the best in football as long as Hurts stays healthy.
