2 Picks.
8:15PM EST: Giants +5.5 (3 Units)
Dallas gave up 28 points at Home to the Ravens last week and 44 points to the Saints at Home the week prior. They're dead last in rushing yards allowed per game and per carry. NYG starting RB Devin Singletary is averaging 4.7 YPC. QB Daniel Jones is also a very capable runner and it's his legs that we like to be the difference for the Giants tonight. Their passing attack is a work in progress but Jones has been efficient. He's thrown 2 TD passes in back-to-back games with 0 interceptions. rookie WR Malik Nabers is a clear difference maker. He has 23 receptions for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season. He's a big reason why the Giants have scored 3 touchdowns in back-to-back games.
The Giants defensive line came into the season with big expectations and came out flat week 1 vs Minnesota. They then recorded 5 sacks on the elusive Jayden Daniels in Week 2 and had 8 on Deshaun Watson last week. The NYG run defense struggled against Washington but that's one of the best rushing attacks in football right now and their star Rookie QB has a lot to do with it. They've allowed 180 combined rushing yards in their other 2 games. Dallas ranks 29th in rushing YPC and it's hard to see them having much success on the ground in this one, especially on the road. That will give the NYG pass rush a chance to wreck havoc and it's not just 1 guy. There's 10 Giants players in the sack column which is a testament to defensive coordinator Shane Bowen.
The Giants could very easily be sitting at 2-1 right now and looked at in a much different light. For some reason HC Brian Daboll brought a hurt kicker with them to Washington and was surprised when he got hurt during the game. The Giants scored 3 touchdowns, missed an XP, and failed two 2PT conversions. The Giants final drive also ended on downs at Washington's 22 yard line with the game tied at 18 a piece. They lost despite not allowing a Touchdown. They got beat up by Minnesota Week 1 but that's a Vikings team that's handled SF and Houston now. The Giants defense only allowed 21 points in that game. Minnesota had a pick 6. We have the Giants as a decent football team right now.
8:15PM EST: DAL/NYG Over 45 (1 Unit).
The Dallas defense has given up 72 combined points over the last 2 weeks and all 3 of their games have gone Over the total this season. The Giants offense has scored 3 touchdowns in back-to-back games but they've left some points on the board. They didn't have a kicker against Washington and that cost them at least 6 points but a case could be made for 9. They brought in Greg Joseph for last weeks game and he missed a 48 yarder. Not an easy kick but he's been solid throughout his career. The Cowboys run defense ranks dead last in yards allowed per game and per carry. Giants starting RB Devin Singletary is averaging 4.7 YPC and QB Daniel Jones can and will run in this one. Rookie WR Malik Nabers has really opened up the passing attack too. Dallas's defense has played terrible in back-to-back Home games, hard to see them playing much better on the road.
The Giants defense has played pretty well the past couple weeks but this Cowboys offense can score. They scored 25 on Baltimore, 19 on New Orleans, and 33 at Cleveland. The Giants run defense struggled with dual threat QB Jayden Daniels and a potent Commanders rushing attack but have allowed just 180 rushing yards combined in their 2 other games. Dak's not a runner and Zeke's 6 years removed from his Prime. Dallas is going to have to throw in this one which should help lengthen this game out. Also invites come chaos as the Giants have been very aggressive coming after the QB, ranking 5th in blitz rate. Could burn the Giants for big plays with a talented Cowboys receiving room and it can also lead to takeaways and short fields. 7 of the Giants 21 points last week came courtesy of sack fumble by Brian Burns on Cleveland's 30 yard line.
