The Saints offensive line just continues to take blows. They lost All Pro Tackle Ryan Ramczyk for the year before the season began. They lost their longtime Center Erick McCoy to the IR on September 25th. Guard Cesar Ruiz has been ruled out for the 2nd week in a row. Backup Center Shane Lemieux got injured last week and won't play today. They're set to start Conner McGovern at Center who they just signed off the Jets practice squad on Friday. Guard Lucas Patrick's also questionable after not practicing all week. They're in a very bad way up front and to make matters worse they're without gadget piece Taysom Hill. It's very difficult to see New Orleans having any success running the football against a KC front 7 that ranks 4th allowing just 3.8 YPC. Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo is also a heavy blitzer and Arrowhead's one of the toughest NFL stadiums to go into. They're loud and make it very difficult to communicate. Just a brutal spot for a patchwork offensive line.
The Saints defense has been among the league’s best this year. The Falcons scored 26 on New Orleans last week but 7 of those came on a muffed punt TD and another 7 on a pick 6. Their defense has yet to allow more than 19 points this season. In 2 road games this season they've held the Cowboys to 19 in Dallas and limited the Falcons to just 4 FGs in Atlanta. This group will provide some challenges for a Chiefs offense that's thin at the WR position. Hollywood Brown hasn't played all year and Rashee Rice just went down against the Chargers last week.
