It's the Cooper Rush lead Cowboys against the Kenny Pickett lead Eagles. The Cowboys are better off with Rush than Philly is with Pickett, but this Eagles defense is very good and they just blew it against the Commanders last week. Hard pressed to find a more motivated defense than Philly's right now. Not only did last week’s loss cost them a chance at the #1 overall seed, but it also opens the door for Washington to take the NFC East. Dallas's defense isn't great, but they've played much better of late. Holding TB to 24, a hot CAR team to 14, CIN to 27, NYG to 20, and WSH to 26. Those aren't eye popping numbers but those are some good offenses and QB's. Kenny Pickett doesn't fall into that same category.
8:20PM: Falcons +3.5 (3 Units).
Michael Penix got his feet wet and helped lead Atlanta to a 34-7 victory over the Giants in his first career start. He'll be asked to do a little bit more in this one, but they'll be able to keep to a similar script. Everything starts on the ground for Atlanta and Washington's 29th in both rushing yards allowed per carry and per game. The Commanders defense has beaten up on some bad teams but any respectable opponent's been able to score. The Kenny Picket led eagles moved the ball on them just fine after Jalen Hurts left the game last week. They also beat the Saints just 20-19 the week before that. Overall Washington has the 19th ranked scoring defense.
Now it was against the Giants, but the Falcons defense really responded to Kirk being benched. It's a Falcons defense that had been put behind the 8-Ball a few too many times by Kirk's turnovers. We don't expect Atlanta to shut down a very potent Commanders offense but they're tied-8th allowing just 4.3 YPC. Washington's 5th in YPC and 3rd in Yards per game. Slowing down Washington's ground game will help keep them out of the endzone in the red area.
