The Chargers won't play starters and other key contributors. HC Jim Harbaugh said himself it'll be roughly 15 players on Offense and 15 players on Defense that won't play. He wants to see young guys play and battle it out for the remaining roster spots. That means half this game will be played by guys who are going to get cut. The Chargers offense has scored just 12 points in their first 2 pre-season games and that was with some starters playing. The Cowboy’s defense has allowed 12 and 13 points in their 2 games.
Dallas won't play many starters either and backup QB Cooper Rush will likely see limited action. Trey Lance is poised to play the majority of this game once again and he played very well against the Raiders last week. Completing 15 of 23 passes for 151 yards and 1 TD. He also had 34 yards rushing and another score. The Raiders also played more talent throughout that game than the Chargers will today. These are important reps; Lance is legitimately competing for backup QB duty and for a future with Dallas.
