Gridiron Player Club NCAAF 4-5 Units (12/7/24)

NCAAF

3 Picks (13 Units).

12:00PM EST: Ohio/Miami(OH) Under 44.5 (5 Units).

These two met earlier this year and combined for 50 points but the offensive performances weren't great. A couple quick scores off turnovers and some garbage time touchdowns for Ohio drove it over. Ohio had 291 yards and Miami (OH) 328. The Defenses played better than the scores indicate, and we like them to play well again here.

Miami (OH) is average offensively but has had more success passing. Ohio has the number 1 rushing defense in MAC play so that'll limit what the RedHawks can do offensively. It's just a day for running the football. It'll be below freezing with 16+ MPH winds. Not a good day for throwing the ball down the field and a bad day for Kicking. Ohio leads the Conference in rushing and is 11th in the country in rush rate. Miami (OH) is in the Conference Title game because they have the number 1 scoring defense. They have the 3rd best rushing defense in the MAC conference and held Ohio to just 3.3 yards per carry in their first meeting. They gave up 2 Touchdowns with under 6 minutes left in the 4th after going up 30-6 in the first meeting. They outright dominated the Ohio offense. A lot had to go right to push that first meeting Over the total, but we like things to come back to the mean here, especially with the weather conditions.

4:00PM EST: UGA/TX Over 50 (4 Units).

Having been there and done it matters here. Both teams and starting QBs played in their Conference Championship last year. Texas also went on to play Washington in the College Football Playoff. All 3 of those games went Over. With experienced teams and Head Coaches we trust them to come out firing and not shrink in the moment.

These two met earlier this year and combined for 7 turnovers. It led to a lopsided Georgia first half and an ugly football game. Don't see that happening again and we trust Sark to have a better offensive gameplan for Texas. The Georgia defense has been scored on more than a few times this year. Georgia Tech put up 27 on them in regulation last week, Ole Miss 28, Mississippi State 31, and Alabama 41. As far as the Georgia's offense goes, they've scored on pretty much everybody. They put up 30 in Texas when these two met the first time. They're also 20th in Pass Rate which will help extend this football game.

8:00PM EST: Penn State/Oregon Under 51 (4 Units).

Penn State got a crack at one of the Nation's top defenses when they hosted Ohio State a Month ago and they completely flopped. They scored just 6 points offensively and were held to 3.8 yards per carry. QB Drew Allar completed 12 of 20 pass attempts for 146 yards and an interception. Oregon's strong up front against the run and that'll force Penn State to throw. Penn State just doesn't have the receiving weapons and that's what cost them against Ohio State. They also don't have the luxury of playing at Home today.

Oregon's offense kills teams with speed, but Penn State can play with these guys. They kept a very explosive Ohio State offense in check despite their offense hanging them out to dry. They're stout against the run limiting teams to just 3.1 YPC. They also do a very good job getting to the QB, ranking 18th in Sack percentage, trailing Oregon who's Tied 11th. Penn State limits explosive plays and that'll be key in this one. Ohio State's longest offensive play went for just 25 yards and they’ve let just 1 play to go over 25 yards in their last 5 games combined.
