1 Picks (4 Units)
7:30PM: Penn State -11 (4 Units).
Tough matchup for Boise's offense. Penn State's defense ranks 9th in rushing yards allowed per carry and 7th in rushing yards allowed per game. Jeanty will have his moments but it's hard to see him having consistent success and without that Boise's offense is in trouble. When Boise competed against Oregon way back in Week 2, Jeanty averaged 7.7 YPC and they still came up short. QB Maddux Madsen completed just 17 of 40 pass attempts. Oregon's mediocre against the run, ranking 54th in rushing yards allowed per carry. This is a much tougher front 7 against the run with an equally talented back end and pass rush. For all the obvious reasons this Broncos offense isn't built to play from behind and they haven't had to all year.
Penn State averages just shy of 34 points per game. Over their last 6 games that's up to 38.2 and that includes 38 on SMU and 37 on Oregon in their last 2. Boise's defense has been carried by its defensive line all season. They're mediocre in coverage and one of the worst tackling teams in the Country. That's also against a very weak strength of schedule. Penn State has one of the strongest run games in the country that feature 2 NFL RB's. QB Drew Allar also has the 11th best completion % in the country. Boise's going to have to make tackles in space against elite athletes.
