8:00PM: Boise State Team Total Under 40.5 (3 Units).
These two programs have met 9 times, all since 2011 when Boise joined the Mountain West Conference. Boise's scored less than 40 in all but 1 and it was the very first meeting in 2011. Both SDSU and Boise State want to run the Football and neither one's particularly great at defending it. SDSU is 75th in opponent YPC and Boise's numbers are inflated by their nation leading 35 sacks. It's a defensive line that's carried their defense as they're one of the worst tackling teams in the nation. Boise's offense goes through Heisman candidate Ashton Jeanty, but they need him healthy as frontrunners to represent the Group of 5 in the CFB Playoff. Style points don't matter to them, their toughest games are behind them, and he's coming off 36 touches last game and 34 the game before that. He'll come out once if things get out of hand early and there isn't a player in the country with a greater positive impact for their offense. San Diego State also has yet to allow more than 31 points so far this season. The SDSU offense will need to move the ball some to prevent this from getting out of hand early and they should. Boise's tackling has been poor against even the worst teams, and they allow just shy of 400 yards per game. SDSU's struggled to score touchdowns in the Red Zone though and Boise's done well preventing them. Should help keep the overall number down.
