1 Pick.
10:30PM EST: Boise State -3.5 (4U).
Boise's shown they can compete with some of College Football's best and they're fresh off a Bye. They lost on a game winning FG @ Oregon earlier this season and then dismantled a current 6-1 Washington State team at Home. Both of those teams feature mobile QBs like UNLV and neither one of them had success with their legs. WSU's Mateer is arguably the best running QB in College today and he finished the day with 20 carries for 28 yards. He was sacked 8 times but that speaks to the discipline Boise State has on its defensive line. They also brought down Dillon Gabriel 4 times and Oregon has one of the better offensive lines in the Country. Boise currently leads the nation averaging 4.8 sacks per game against FBS opponents.
Offensively for Boise the Ashton Jeanty show has yet to be stopped. He's coming off his worst performance, averaging 7 YPC as he ran for 210 yards and just 1 score. UNLV's defense is allowing 398.2 total yards per game against FBS opponents this season and their toughest test came against Syracuse. Syracuse is one of the worst running teams in College Football and they still found success on the ground in the Rebels house. Kansas also ran for 199 yards on UNLV. The Rebels have decent run defense numbers on the season but it's all relative to the competition. Teams have and actively load the box against Ashton Jeanty, and it just hasn't mattered. He's going to break tackles and make guys miss. Boise's QB Maddux Mansen has shown he can make all the throws, including those down the field. He's thrown 12 touchdowns to just 2 interceptions this season. Only game he struggled in was @ Oregon and that's just a talent gap. Oregon's littered with NFL talent in it's secondary. UNLV's secondary just gave up 461 yards passing to a 1-6 Utah State team 2 weeks ago.
