Florida has played very good Basketball with Micah Handolgten in the lineup. They've won 7 of their 8 games with him healthy. Their only loss came 73-70 against an elite Virginia defense in a neutral site game at the very same stadium they'll play in tonight, the Spectrum Center. The 7'1 grades out elite in the post and he's an excellenet rebounder. He scored 14 points on 7/10 shooting while snagging 14 rebounds on 26 minutes. He's been on a minutes restriction as he recovers from an injury but he's off of it now, playing 27 minutes in their win over East Carolina.
He's a very specic matchup issue for the Wolverines. With Hunter Dickinson gone and playing for Bill Self at Kansas, they lack a post defender. They lack a true center and use 6'8 Forward Will Tschetter and 6'10 Forward Tarris Reed down low. Tschetter is the better offensive option and Reed better defensively. Handlogten holds the edge over both of them but he's way too much for Tschetter to handle himself. Reed will be forced into action more and while he still holds a disadvantage defensively, it really hurts Michigan on offense. The Wolverines have already lost 5 games this season, including an 86-94 defeat to Long Beach State. Florida also holds a bit of a neutral court edge having played at the Spectrum Center earlier this season.
