Both of these teams will look to run the football tonight. Duke runs the ball 57% of the time and Boston College is without their starting QB. Boston College will lean on it’s run game for as long as possible to protect the young QB. It’s a run game that’s averaging just 2.3 YPC vs FBS opponents. On the other side, the one strength of this BC team is it’s run defense, holding opponents to just 3.9 YPC. These teams also take their time on offense, BC ranks 81st in seconds per play (sure to slow down even more with the young QB) and Duke ranks 105th. It’s just going to be a struggle for Boston College to score tonight. Either BC’s very capable run defense keeps this game a dog fight and we cover the Under that way or Duke milks out the clock with a comfortable double-digit lead. The Under is 5-0 the last 5 times these two have met, 7-2 in Dukes L9 road games, and 6-2 in BC’s L8 Home games. The Under is also 12-4 in BC’s L16 overall and 10-3 L13 conference games.
