Have good QB play for both teams tonight. Starters Dak and Geno may see limited time if any but those taking the bulk of snaps behind them are more than competent.
Cooper Rush and Will Grier will play for the Cowboys. Rush played very well in Dak's 5 game absence a season ago, leading the Cowboys to a 4-1 record. He's no gun slinger but he plays within the offense and allows his guys to make plays. He's been a member of the Dallas Cowboys since he entered the league back in 2017. HC Mike McCarthy enters year 4 with Dallas, Rush has a very good grasp of his system.
Will Grier's also been a member of the Cowboys for some time, joining them back in 2021. You saw his comfortability and confidence in McCarthy's system when he came in and completed 22 of 31 passes for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns against Jacksonville last week.
Seattle's defense also ranked 25th in points allowed per game. They played Minnesota last week and the Veteran Nick Mullens played very well against SEA's defense. 14/20 passing for 129 yards and a score. Then Rookie backup QB Jaren Hall came in and struggled but that was expected. Seattle's defense won't be as fortunate in the 2nd half today.
On the other side Drew Lock will play a bulk of snaps for the 2nd week in a row. He went 17 of 24 for 191 and 2 touchdowns in their pre-season opener. He's a more than capable QB with plenty of starting experience in the NFL. Holton Ahlers fills in when Lock's done. If you recall from last week (CLICK HERE) he's a big playmaking QB. He came in and went 4 for 4 with 1 passing touchdown. He also ran for 26 yards on 6 attempts. He's a risk tasker that could see mistakes lead to Dallas points.
The Jaguars Nathan Rourke also shredded Dallas's second half defense. Leading them to 14 4th quarter points. He played in the CFL before joining Jacksonville this off-season.
