SDSU followed up their National Championship loss with a run to the Sweet 16 last year. Both runs ended against the Huskies. Unfortunately that strong core of players is gone. Not a single starter returns from last year's team as they either transferred or ran out of eligibility. HC Brian Dutcher does a great job there and the Aztecs tend to be strong defensively. They don't have Gonzaga's scoring ability or experience. 3 of SDSU's 5 starters came from the portal and their bench is full of freshman. 4 of 5 starters and 6 of Gonzaga's 8-man rotation are multi-year Gonzaga guys. They're a better basketball program and one of the top teams in the nation year in and year out. They also blew out a good Baylor team 101-63 in their first game of the season.
